For 45 years St. Mark’s Parish has been a place of peace, prayer, refuge, and Catholic community for our UCSB students. Our parish has made a difference in the lives of countless Catholic college students- strengthening them in their faith, teaching them to be leaders in the church, and helping them to create life-long friendships. 

We also serve the greater Isla Vista community through our Sunday masses and community outreach events such as free lunch for the homeless, Mon- Fri.

It is our hope that this wonderful community will continue to be an effective force in Isla Vista and on the UCSB campus.  

However, we are badly in need of funding for the various programs we offer to the students and our “year round parishioners.” It is our priority to provide top quality retreats, classes, campus outreach events, and community service events as well.  In these tough economic times, it is more important than ever that we have the means to reach out to everyone in our community.
 
In addition, to increase our effectiveness as a Newman center parish, we need to stay visible and relevant. As the only Catholic Church in Isla Vista, we need to proudly display our church building as a place of worship, open to the community. Sadly, this is not the message our building gives. The outside of our church building is badly in need of repair and updating. On the inside our meeting rooms and offices are also badly in need of repair. 

We need your help!  Please support our Parish, and know that your money is going towards much needed programs and renovations.  By giving you are supporting your fellow Catholics, and are giving young people a chance to grow in their faith, and become leaders in the Church.
